Glenn R Rink - Chief Executive Officer & President
Glenn has led AbTech in its commitment to Green Tech innovation for over 20 years. A 2007 and 2008 AlwaysOn GoingGreen Top-100 winner, Glenn has pioneered cutting-edge clean water solutions while overseeing AbTech's growth from a startup R&D venture to an over 20-million-dollar-invested environmental company. Glenn also serves as the chairman of the Board of Trustees for Waterkeeper Alliance, the largest and fastest growing environmental group in the United States.
From 1992 to 1995, Glenn served as the found and president of HydroGrowth International, an agricultural products company that specializes in aqueous absorption polymer technology. The advancement of this technology at HydroGrowth expanded into the development and application of polymer technologies to hydrocarbons and fostered the founding of AbTech.
Prior to founding HydroGrowth, Glenn was involved in the restaurant industry where he participated in business acquisitions and expansions that resulted in the creation of a successful restaurant franchise business. Glenn’s media appearances include Good Morning America, Discovery Channel’s Planet Green, Fox Business Report and the Fox Business Network.
Lane J Castleton - Chief Financial Officer, Vice President & Treasurer
Lane joined AbTech in 1998 and brings over 25 years of experience in managing, accounting, and finance experience.
From 1992 to 1997, Lane managed the finance, accounting, and administrative functions of the Marine Preservations Association, an oil industry trade association that funded the establishment of a national catastrophic oil spill response capability.
For nine years, Lane served as the Controller and Chief Financial Officer of Symbion, Inc., a publicly traded medical device manufacturing company. Lane earned master’s degree in professional accountancy, and public accounting experience gained as an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand, an international public accounting firm.
Robert C Backman - Chief Technology Officer
Robert joined AbTech in February 2018 and brings over 35 years of experience in supplying water and wastewater treatment in municipal and industrial markets. Robert has extensive experience in process design, equipment specification and project life cycle management, and oversees all operational areas of AbTech, including, sales, marketing, research, product development, engineering and strategic planning.
Since 2005, Robert has been integral to the development and commercialization of the ballasted high rate clarification processes for physical, chemical and biological treatment. Robert served as the Manager of Business Development/Global Accounts at Evoqua Water Technologies, LLC, for four years where he was responsible for domestic and international business growth and new application development for high rate clarification technology for both municipal and industrial markets.
From 2012 to 2014, Robert served as the Senior Business Development Manager for Siemens Industry Inc. (“Siemens”), where he drove the integration of high rate clarification technologies that Siemens acquired from Cambridge Water Technology, Inc. From 2006 to 2012, Robert served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cambridge Water Technology, Inc., where he was integral to the development of high rate clarification technologies and was part of the negotiation team that sold the Company to Siemens.
Shawn M Lolling - Director of Engineering
Shawn brings to AbTech over 15 years of experience in process water systems. Shawn served as an Application/Design Engineer for Culligan International, Senior Design Manager-Process and Utilities at Nestle Water, and as a Process Engineer at PepsiCo – Gatorade.
Shawn earned a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor in science degree in physics from Illinois State University.
Joseph Ahlo - Head of Marketing and Business Strategy
Joseph leads AbTech’s marketing and business strategy. Joseph is responsible for all of the company’s strategic operational initiatives, including end-to-end management of marketing activities and growing the sales as well as the product teams. He leads the continued development of the company’s structure including the digital transformation of internal and external facing processes.
Prior to joining AbTech, Joseph played a role in developing Procter & Gamble’s social media initiatives for Pringles in Europe and guided the operational design and strategy of a startup in the luxury space. He has also instructed over 40 international business classes at the largest online university in the United States.
Joseph earned a PhD from Union Institute & University, a Masters in Organizational Behavior from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Business Administration from Grenoble Ecole de Management.
Benny Lonchar - National Sales Manager
Benny leads AbTech’s national sales effort. Benny is responsible for sales growth throughout North America including the development and implementation of several new sales channels. He also brings a high level of experience collaborating with and leading representative firms nationwide.
Prior to joining AbTech, Benny played a key role as national sales manager at Red Valve Company for over 20 years. There, he was responsible for all sales activity, strategy, and P&L in North America. He managed a large sales team from inside sales to product managers across the municipal and industrial wastewater, potable water, and stormwater and flood prevention sectors.
Benny attended Point Park University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania where he studied Civil Engineering.
David Scott - Program Development Manager
David is a recent addition to the AbTech management team who leads technical development and commercialization needs. Currently, David is responsible for the development and management of defined work streams related to strategic planning and market analysis, technology innovation, laboratory and field testing, special project applications for stormwater purification; and, soft-skill work streams such as building a new and innovative corporate culture.
Before AbTech, David dedicated 25 years to resolving water quality challenges in the municipal and industrial stormwater markets. David has successfully developed and brought to market a number of stormwater products in the US including New Zealand, the UK, Australia, and South Korea.
David earned a bachelors degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada and an electrical technologist degree from DeVry Institute of Technology.
